This is a very thought provoking message that reminds us that all we have is God given, all that we are, is what God has made us, we should always be humble when we he calls us to do his work.

Thanks.

You are a very good writer Claire, damned fine as far as I'm concerned.
Not going to even try and compare my story to yours, or many other people who had a much more up close and personal experience that day. (I know, it's not really a contest to prove who has the sadder, more emotional, or heart rending story. Hope you know what I meant by the words "compare".) In any event, I know that to almost every American alive on that September morning, 9/11/01, there is a unique quality of the memories of the day. For people my age, it joins the news reports of JFK'S assassination, the scattered mental images of a just turned 9 year old boy seeing black and white live TV coverage of Oswald's murder two days later, the horse drawn caisson and the riderless horse with the backwards boots, little John Jr's salute. Other major, publicly known, news stories are also in that special part of our memory reserved for "moment in time" events in our lives. (Note: Not all of those memories are bad ones. For me they include the birth of my first child, finding out I had "made Chief Petty Officer", a few (very few) others.) To some extent, the surreal nature of that morning, when something went, in a flash of aviation fuel, from never even considered in MY real world, to an in your face reality, still makes that day seem almost like the somewhat gray and misty memory of a very serious drunk. You know most of what happened during the evening, but have to rely on others to fill in blanks that exist because of the alcohol overload. (I've only had a couple of those events in my life, but that's a close as I can come to describing the 'hinkey memory' of the day.)
In any event, Thank you for your post. Never easy sharing one's emotional state when truly devastating memories are the subject, and you did a great job with yours.
Hoping you have a safe and trauma free weekend.

Hi. Great article. Thanks for the heads-up on the upcoming book. You take good care of yourself!

Rosemary (Yeah, I got a gut shock (my brother died in November after 6 months of taking care of him), but they cannot keep me down forever. I miss him terribly, but geez. Look at the people he gets to talk to! Moses, Noah, Adam, Jesus (if you're Christians).

I've missed everyone, including your writings. I hope you have a blessed day.
