The dreaded “about” page.
I am a 40-something, mother of four who was born to communicate. If it’s not coming out of my mouth then it’s being written by my hands. I was born before there were home computers. I talked on the phone for at least 87.5% of my teenage existence. The rest of that time was spent gabbing with girlfriends in person.
When I found myself attached to the Army at the hip — husband and two sons in, I began writing about my journey through separations and deployments. I never faced

deployment with the husband, but have been through 2 now with my oldest son who just finished his 2nd tour and is now stationed in Germany with his lovely wife and my first grand baby, Austin Michael. Some days we all wonder if the Army has forgotten that Mike was only on loan to them.
Since I love to talk and communicate I also write a lot about my faith in Jesus Christ. I am a Christian. I believe I am a sinner, worthy of God’s wrath, but saved by the most amazing Grace of the One True, Amazing God! I love the Bible and study it daily. It is not just a part of who I am, but as C. S. Lewis once said “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
I own and have written the majority of articles on Knee Deep in the Hooah (my original military site). I was very blessed to have contributions of significant content from two dear friends — Brat from Assoluta Tranquillita and Hank from Devil Dog Brew.
Other places where I contribute regularly are All Military, You Served, and Wives in Bloom: The Online Magazine of Christian Military Wives, and at Christian Military Fellowship on my blog there titled She Who Waits…
There is a cartoonist I have a crush on. His name is Damon and he draws the cartoon Delta Bravo Sierra. We are married by the way, so it’s OK with my husband that I think he’s awesome. He also has a great online gallery showcasing some of his work. Cassidy House Gallery is only a small representation of his incredible talent.
Damon and I are working on a new cartoon concept. I am writing the scripts and he is conceptualizing the art for it. The toon will be based on the antics of our very imaginative, exuberantly defiant, very creative and extremely strong-willed daughter, Emma. Keep your eyes open for notices about that cartoon in the future. It will be family friends and targeted at families and Christian audiences.
As always with my life… to be continued, updated, and/or retracted at any point.
